When any life is lost suddenly and tragically, it is very difficult to come to terms with what happened. The sadness and unfathomability of such an event is particularly amplified when young and promising lives are lost. Our Pennsylvania community will find it harrowing to learn that recently a 25-year-old man was charged by authorities with not only two counts of homicide while driving under the influence, but also other offenses after the pick-up truck he was driving collided with a minivan.
The impact of this car collision resulted in two teens who were riding in the minivan to be ejected from it. Authorities pronounced the two teens dead at the scene of the accident. The teens who lost their lives in this car collision were also siblings. Reports indicate that one was a junior at a local high school and the other had recently graduated from the school.
In addition to the fatal injuries the teens suffered, four others, including the parents of the teens, sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby area hospital. According to authorities investigating the accident, the collision happened around seven o’clock at night on Route 100 in the northbound lanes.
Following a car accident or collision those who have suffered injuries, lost a loved one or both may not know what to do or how to make sense of the life changing event. Seeking the necessary medical attention for one’s injuries is of the utmost importance. Though many understand that a lost life cannot be brought back, holding a negligent driver responsible for the harm, pain and suffering they have caused may bring the car accident victims some sense of justice and solace. Many people may not know whom to approach or how to go about tackling the issue. In such cases, contacting a Philadelphia car accident attorney for more information and legal options may be helpful.
